Remember to log out of Citrix and power down your computer each day when finished working!

REMINDER!

You should be logging out of your Citrix session at the end of each day when you are finished working and turning your computer off to conserve energy. IT has found that there are many of you that are leaving it on and your Citrix connection active throughout the night. You probably have found that by leaving it on and connected to Citrix makes it quicker in the morning to get started working and seemingly more efficient - but it has quite the opposite overall effect.

While this may save time for you in the morning, it is not good for your laptop / computer and not good for the F&D network. It can have a negative impact upon the firm's nightly backups and updating system (an important part of the firm's Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan) and cause an overall slowdown on your system and the Citrix server you are on - effecting all F&D users. I am sure none of you want to be the cause of a backup failure due to you leaving your session up and running over night to save a few minutes in the morning.

Rebooting your laptop / desktop computer at the very least daily, will not only clear the memory on the machines but will also allow the necessary updates being pushed to you to flow through. I know many of you joke about IT and their reboot first mantra - but it really does solve current and potential problems from arising.

Thanks for your anticipated cooperation!
Don
